Who We Are
Our congregation has a missional focus. Our worship uses traditional liturgy, combined with more contemporary elements, and wonderful music thanks to our talented musicians and vocalists. Our theological outlook is moderate, allowing for a variety of expressions and interpretations while being grounded on some core beliefs.
Our mission is to carry out God’s commandment to teach, preach, and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our vision is that through the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit, JUMC will carry out God’s will for our lives, both individually and as a church, to spread the Gospel to the poor and the un-churched, especially youth and their families.
Our church is gifted with generosity, a willingness to serve, a loving and welcoming congregation, and incredible commitment from our leadership. We have many people attending our church who have gifts to bring, including music, drama, carpentry, financial management, and nurturing ministries. We have several certified lay speakers, and a Spirit-led and committed pastor. We delight in the Lord and in sharing our gifts with each other. We enjoy learning about the Word of God. Our church is filled with love and grace. We are a prayerful church and believe in its power to help transform lives, our church, our community, and the world.
